Biyyam Rava Upma / Biyyam Nooka Upma / Rice Rava Upma - a healthy and simple recipe. It can be served as a quick breakfast or dinner with only a few ingredients. There are only two options when it comes to upma: you either love it or you hate it; there is no in between. I am a member of Team Upma and enjoy it in all of its forms.

Don't worry if you need to prep meal in less than 30 mins and don't have any vegetables in your refrigerator. Rice rava upma is perfect. For this delicious recipe, all you need is salt, a few green chilies, ginger, water, and rice rava.

The main flavoring comes from thinly chopped green chillies, chopped ginger and fresh curry leaves. I Enjoy this simple upma with mamidikaya pachadi / Mango Pickle.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Rice rava
- 2 1/2 cups water
- Salt as needed
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon ghee
For tempering:
- 2 teaspoon oil
- 2 green chilli chopped
- ½ teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- 2 teaspoon chana dal
- ⅛ teaspoon asafoetida
- 1 Sprig curry leaves
Preparation Method:
- Heat the pot with oil and add all the Tempering ingredients in order. Once dal is golden, add water, salt.
- Bring to boil, add rice rava slowly by stirring. Keep stirring and When it is thick, like porridge, lower the flame.
- Cook covered closed for 10 mins in low flame. . Drizzle some ghee over it and turn the heat to medium.
- Once it turns golden, switch off the stove and enjoy hot.
